I put these together when I was working at the hospital. They are (admittedly) overly verbose. If you get frustrated easily or don't want to read through all of this....

Going the Tegaderm route?
Follow the above instructions for the first night. When you get up in the morning the next day, wash your tattoos in the shower (gently still, no washcloths or scrubbies, just your hand, soap and water) allow the tattoos to air dry.
Do not put any ointment of any kind on before applying the Tegaderm.
Make sure that the Tegaderm extends well beyond the borders of the tattooed area.
Leave the Tegaderm in place for several days. Remove if it appears to be irritating the skin, is starting to leak or is peeling up in a way that may get close to the tattooed area.
When removing the Tegaderm stretch the product parallel to the skin (like you are trying to make it bigger) do not pull up and away from the skin. (Trust me on this, it's much more comfortable and comes off easier this way).
If the tattoo appears to be healed you are finished.
If the tattoo does not seem to be healed, wash it gently and apply another piece of Tegaderm and wear it again for another few days.
No idea what I am talking about? Ask me during your appointment and we will go over the pros and cons of healing this way.
